selfship lore lets gooo

Split into two parts becuase there's two games and I wanted lore for both of them.

idle apocalypse

One of the aliens that crash-landed onto Sid's property, One was completely uninterested in returning home. They took to exploring the strange planet they landed on instead, but Sid had other plans. He employed them as his personal hate mail delivery service, thinking his enemies would be sooo jealous of his new extraterrestrial allies. Unfortunately for him, the alien he picked for the job was prone to wandering off on a whim, forcing Sid to actually pay One to ensure their return.

One ends up visiting his sister a lot, who is Very mad that her brother got to space first, mind you. Him getting an alien to show up at her place on a regular basis is just rubbing it in her face! She can't stop thinking abt One and their stupid face and how nice they are and how her stupid brother is probably scheming to get her attached to them because why else would she be thinking about them this much?

Sid... genunely didn't account for One being nice to his sister, letting her complain about him, either of them getting attached in any way. So when he notices One staying over at Enid's place longer and longer, it's already too late. Enid stole another one of his toys. Not even that, One is willingly making out with his sister.

Of course, tensions rise between Sid and One as doesn't want to lose them almost as much as he doesn't want to see Enid happy. One can't care less. They're happy, and it's kinda funny that Sid's getting so mad.

necromerger

In Necromerger, One is a time-travelling alien. They initially took to watching time flow from afar, never directly interfering until finding the Necromerger, and the small cluster of aliens that formed around him. Unlike the aliens from Wobular, One took a particular interest in the Necromerger's sister. The pair of siblings fought often, and One always found themself rooting for the losing side.

Eventually, One decided that enough was enough, and that they'd help Enid in any way they could. She was... skeptical of them at first, but kept them around to see what they could do. Do they actually know the future like they claim?

Enid takes the risk of dragging One along when she invades her rother's armory. They know the layout of his dungeon, they recognize his pet rock, and they save her from a few close calls with a floating weapon or two. Still, nothing a non-time traveler with quick reflexes couldn't do.

It isn't until One whips out a strange machine and the two go back in time that she realizes everything they've said to her is true. Her brother just went back in time, and One's machine took the two of them along for the ride! Now both of them are on equal footing with the Necromerger, but it must remain a secret! One's technically not using their time machine responsibly, and if he or any of the aliens find out what's happening, they won't hear the end of it!

One and Enid now have a secret—and each other—to protect.
